Our Current Performance Drill Members:

Abby

Abby

Abby and her horse, Ariat
Abby has been on the drill team for 2 years. She started with riding Magic. When we lost him, she rode various Promenade lesson horses. One day in 2016, I wanted her to feel what a canter departure is supposed to feel like and had her ride Ariat. She totally fell in love with this silly Haflinger and has been working with him ever since. They are partners in drill and in our Haflinger Liberty team.
Ashton

Ashton

Ashton and her horse, Blaze
Ashton has ridden on the drill team for 3 years. She is the creator of many of the drill routines that we ride, thanks, Ashton! Her latest one is a blast to ride and the team will be performing this summer at different venues. Even more exciting, Ashton is riding her own Haflinger, Blaze. He took to drill immediately and loves to interact with the other horses. Ashton’s next goal is to carry the American Flag at our events.
Bonnie

Bonnie

Bonnie and her horse, Queda
Bonnie started with riding on our junior team. She was promoted to performance team in the fall of 2016 for doing such a great job on her old team. She is a serious rider, works hard at learning the routine and is a pleasure to have on the performance team. She has come a long way with her horse, Queda.
Brianna

Brianna

Brianna and Romeo
Brianna has ridden on performance team for 3 years. She use to ride her horse, Sam, but we had to retire this awesome horse from the team. Brianna has taken on the challenge to ride one of our horses, Romeo. Brianna has an incredible seat and is fast becoming a really good trainer. I love working with Brianna because she listens and really works at the suggestions you give her to improve her riding. Great job with Romeo, Brianna!
Elizabeth

Elizabeth

Elizabeth and her horse, Chip
Elizabeth started drill a few years ago, riding one of our Haflingers. She is now riding her own horse a beautiful, energetic Appaloosa, named Chip. Elizabeth is a great team player always positive to her team members and many times leading the drills. She is our team coordinator helping me with organizing the events we participate in. Thanks for all the help, Liz! She is also an excellent instructor, helping in summer camps to teach and encourage our beginning students.
Emma

Emma

Emma and Opal

Jessica

Jessica

Jessica and her favorite horse, Houdini
Jessica has been riding at Promeande for 10 years and is a great rider. She rode in drill earlier on when she came then took a break for a couple years. She just started back up with the team and is really enjoying herself. We all love Jessica with her enthusiasm for drill. Here she is with her favorite horse, Houdini. He is a Promenade lesson horse but his heart is owned by Jessica. They have a special bond and he will do anything for her. Jessica spent three years retraining this reactive, stressed out horse, giving him the time to understand what was being asked of him rather than just pushing him through things which was his life until he came to Promenade. Now, he is quiet enough to put advanced beginners on so they can learn to canter. Jessica’s next challenge is a gaited Pinto by the name of Tucker, I predict we will see him in drill soon!
Katelyn

Katelyn

Katelyn and her horse, Hershey
Katelyn and her horse Hershey are quite the team. Katelyn took on Hershey when we realized he would never quite be a Promenade lesson horse. She work with him and created a great bond and a lovely canter. Katelyn is a natural horsewomen and most practice days you will find her leading the drill. Thanks so much for your devotion to Hershey and making him the best he can be!
Kori

Kori

Kori and her horse, Shadow
Kori and her own horse Shadow first came to Promenade for camp. Kori was a great young rider but didn’t quite know what to do with her gaited horse Shadow. In camp Kori we taught Kori how to find her horse’s gait and keep it and worked on proper leads in the canter. The canter took a while but now Kori canters and gaits anywhere and everywhere! Everyone was excited when Kori joined the team because of her friendly personality but also because they got to take turns riding a gaited horse! Kori has done a great job with her horse and is a very strong rider for our drill team, way to go, Kori!!!
Payton

Payton

Payton and Danza
Payton's first visit to Promeneade was as a guest to a friend's birthday party. While I was working with Payton and asked where she took lessons and she told me she didn't, I knew Payton was going to be a natural at riding! Payton has proved this to be true time and time again. Payton not only rides drill but shows, rides trail, and has competed in horse agility. She was reserved high point at 2016 Adams County horse show series(her first year showing), Junior champion in Cowboy Dressage. Payton and Danza have a great partnership and they continue to get better every year!
Melissa

Melissa

Melissa and her horse, Bree
Melissa has been on the drill team for a few years and use to ride Promenade lesson horses but then became the proud owner of a mare named Bree. She is an appaloosa although she looks more like a thoroughbred. Bree sometimes likes to challenge Melissa but it is all good because Melissa is turning into quite the rider. Melissa is an excellent student and puts to use things she has learned in other classes to keep herself safe and improve her horse’s performance. Melissa and Bree both did their first parade last summer and did awesome. Melissa has done some showing and is excelling in Horse Agility and Equagility. Great job on those high agility scores, Melissa!
Samantha

Samantha

Samantha and Sadie
Samantha has ridden at Promenade since she was 3 ½ years old. If I remember right, “horse” was her first word. Her Mom brought her to Promenade because all Samantha could talk about was horses. Samantha started in junior drill, wrote a drill for this team which was in a talent show and was one of the team leaders in 2015/2016. In the fall of 2016 she was promoted to the performance team. She is doing a fantastic job keeping up with the older members, although with the age she started at she may have more years of riding experience than some of them! She is another excellent student of the horse understanding if you put the needs of the horse first, you never go wrong! I look forward to the many more years of working with this wonderful young lady.
Tessa

Tessa

Tessa and her horse, Johnny Cash
Tess was another student who rode with me at 3 ½ years old. She also was just promoted from junior drill to performance drill due to her horsemanship skills. She is pictured with one of her family’s adopted mustangs and also rides a Quarter horse by the name of Joey. Tess is a go getter and has a great seat. She is willing to ride the faster less trained horses and is gaining a lot of experience in the process. Great job, Tessa!
Zoey

Zoey

Zoey and Mozes
Zoey is a newer student at Promenade. She showed what she had by jumping into the performance team quite early in her horsemanship journey. She showed she had what it takes and now rides our lesson horse, Mozes. Mozes loves drill, and Zoey and this horse are proving to be great team. She has almost an hour commute to be on our team and is one of the most dedicated members, working at many events we do to share our love of horses. Thanks Zoey, as well as her drivers, Mom, Grandma, and Grandpa!
